Mark Your Calendar for Small Business Week Events
The Chamber works every day to help create a strong local economy. One key element of a growing economy is small businesses. In May, the Chamber will celebrate Small Business Week.
The week kicks off with the Small Business Awards Luncheon on Friday, May 2. Local businesspeople will be honored with awards including the Small Business of the Year, Minority Business of the Year and the Small Business Advocate of the Year. Nomination forms for these awards are available online. The New Business Challenge recipient will also be announced at this luncheon.
The Small Business Awards Luncheon will take place at 11:45 a.m. at Holiday Inn. Cost for members is $15. Please RSVP online no later than noon on Wednesday, April 30.
On Monday, May 5, the Chamber will hold its annual Economic Reports Luncheon. Local experts will discuss economic trends and factors that impact the local economy. Brad Graham, Bob Jensen and Dick O’Gara have been confirmed as speakers.
The Economic Reports Luncheon will take place at 11:30 a.m. at Holiday Inn. Cost for members is $20. Please RSVP for this event no later than noon on Thursday, May 1.
The Small Business Showcase is one of the Chamber’s most useful promotional tools for its members. The event gives members a chance to be in front of over 1200 potential customers in three and a half hours.
The 2008 Small Business Showcase will take place on Tuesday, May 6, at the Taco Johns Events Center. The event includes a members only networking event from 4 to 5 p.m. and a public event from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Booths are now available to all Chamber members.
The week will conclude with Governor Dave Freudenthal at the Small Business Breakfast on Wednesday, May 7, at The Plains Hotel, starting at 7:15 a.m. The program will be broadcast live on KGAB. Cost for this event is $25. Please RSVP no later than noon on Friday, May 2.
